Cedar Point Coaster Guide

Compare Cedar Point’s coasters, find your starting point, and build confidence from first rides to major thrills.

Should Your Family Visit Cedar Point?

Cedar Point offers one of the widest coaster progressions of any amusement park, from small children’s rides to some of the tallest, fastest, and most intense coasters in the country. It is especially strong for families with riders at different confidence levels.

Best For

Families with beginners, growing coaster riders, and experienced thrill seekers who want several different ride levels in one park.

Biggest Challenge

Crowds and long waits can make completing several progression rides difficult—especially on weekends and peak summer days. Without Fast Lane Plus, families may need to prioritize a few key coasters and stay flexible.

CoasterSchool Take

Cedar Point has excellent Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 stepping stones, but the jump to Levels 4 and 5 is significant. The added height, speed, inversions, launches, and skyline intimidation can stall younger or cautious riders.

Understanding the CoasterSchool Levels

Use the levels to understand overall coaster intensity and find rides that match your current comfort level.

LEVEL 0

Starter Coasters

Cedar Point pick: Wilderness Run

The starting point for young or very cautious riders. Level 0 is about becoming comfortable with ride motion, restraints, sounds, and the amusement-park experience.

LEVEL 4

Bigger Thrill Coasters
